There is none. The Paladin/Nightmare can match the CNR if you only fight NPCs with an EM weakness, but for anything else, the only ship that can even come close to challenging the CNR is the Golem. -----------

CCNR is a allrounder, that gets outclassed by rat specific turret boats in every way, on any rat.
Uh, lol? Sorry, but you're not going to beat almost 1300 dps of your choice of damage type at 25km range, except maybe with a Nightmare/Paladin against the ideal type of rat. The idea that you can do it with a Dominix, Sleipnir or Absolution is just laughable, those ships barely get half the CNR's damage, even ignoring the CNR's free choice of damage types. -----------

now if only everything sat inside of 25km that would be great.
Try using javelin torps sometimes. And 25km is a low-end number, assuming mediocre skills and no range rigs/implants.
PS: all of the other mission ships are going to have the same problem, if a torp CNR/Golem can't reach it, neither can any of the other short-range ships, and the long-range ships are out-performed by the cruise CNR/Golem. -----------

Negatory.. Being the proud owner of a nightmare, paladin, cnr and golem I can safely say nothing beats a nightmare for spamming missions. Yeah the Golem might look better on paper but again by the time you factor in the travel time on the cruise my insta hit nightmare is already nearly finished with the next room. The marauders are nice if you want to salvage but I can't be arsed to do that anymoar as its redundant plus lasors and shield are an awesome combination.
Travel time is a non-issue after the first volley. With experience, you'll know how many missiles to launch at each target, so you cycle to the next target before the killing shot hits. If you do it right, you never waste a missile, and are constantly doing damage.
Quote: Edit: Oh and defender missiles. Knock up to 25% off of your golem dps right there and the main reason I decided to pimp my nightmare instead of the cnr.
Let's not forget resists. The Golem/CNR may lose dps to defender missiles, but the Nightmare/Paladin are going to lose a lot of dps to resists unless you only fight EM-weak rats. -----------

Talking about insane faction Nightmare/Paladin/etc setups is just hilarious, given that one of the best features of the Golem is the fact that you can quickly and effortlessly run your missions without a setup expensive enough to attract every suicide ganker in a 50-jump radius. -----------

Honestly, if you're taking so long to kill each NPC that they're actually tanking any meaningful amount of damage, you're doing something seriously wrong. -----------
